Ron Clark of Harbor Ratz operated the crane and Rock Wall’em built rock walls where the flag poles were inserted. Justin Burgo; Kona Sailing Club representatives, Scott Garrett, Luci Verrue and Marc Senton; Honokohau Harbor Group representatives, Les Thuet and Jack Ross; and photographer, Nita Lopez also volunteered. The flag poles were donated by Lex Brodie’s.

The project was a year in the making, and was spearheaded by Thuet.

The U.S. flag had flown over the Capitol in Washington and the Hawaiian flag over the state Capitol.
